Our volunteer guide gave us the most interesting tour of WGBH Headquarters in Brighton. 

Their call letters stand for the location of their broadcast antenna on Great Blue Hills (GBH).
We learned that many announcers stand up when speaking on air: Jim Braude and Margerie Eagan were live and in action doing their mid-day "Boston Public Radio" while we watched from the other side of the window. Nevertheless, Cathy Fuller was sitting during her classical music program.

The Building is state of the art, with special flooring and walls to allow for perfect sound recording and echo reduction. And WGBH organizes many events open to the public.

We had lunch across the street at the Stockyard to finish a wonderful day.
