Events 2011-2012

A group of about 20 IWCB members and spouses gathered at the Four Green Fields Pub on the evening of June 17 to say Farewell to Stephie.  She and husband Peter are leaving Boston at the end of June to spend a month in Turkey before they move to Geneva, Switzerland.  The monthly Pub night, to which spouses are invited, was held in a new location, much quieter and more conducive to conversation than the previous site.  Mary Louise put a lot of effort into finding this spot, close to the T (Blue, Orange and Green lines) but also near available parking.

Is there such a thing as IWCB radar?  I have run into Club members unexpectedly in various places.   Several weeks ago, I saw Mary-Alice walking with a friend in Salem, and she mentioned to me that Pauline  was hanging some of her art for a Salem Art Association Exhibit.  So I dropped by and helped with the hanging.  What do you think?  Has anything like this ever happened to you?

In a club such as ours, it is inevitable that members move out of the area, and we are always sad when this happens. However, from time to time, an IWCB Alumna will return to Boston for a visit, and if we have enough advance notice, we love to meet for lunch and find out how their new location suits them. Alumna JungEun, who always graciously let us call her “J”, met with a group of us on 17 June, 2011 at Le’s Vietnamese Restaurant in Chestnut Hill. After 6 months in Buenos Aires, J says her children have adjusted well, which always makes a mother happy! It was so nice to see you J!
