Chopstick Making Workshop and Bento Box Lunch

Mark your calendars and join us for the first Cultural Exchange of 2018/2019 year!

Unique chopstick making workshop with Mrs. Kayoko Takashima, a skilled chopstick craftsperson from Japan, and a bento box lunch at Itadaki Restaurant on Newbury St. Mr. Mamoru Kaihou of Hashitou Honten, a famous chopstick shop in Tokyo, will give a short talk on the history and use of chopsticks.

Each participant will: 

• Plane and shave their own chopsticks 
  
• Sand and smooth with natural scouring rush 
  
• Finish with oak leaves and walnut oil from the nut 
  

Lunch menu options are: 

• Chicken teriyaki bento box 
  
• Roll bento box: spicy tuna roll and salmon roll 
  
• Green Salad with tofu (vegetarian) and yuzu dressing
  

Cost: 15$ for lunch, 25$ workshop. Please bring a check for the full amount to the restaurant. Debra S will be collecting them at the door.
