To celebrate International Women's Day, this year we will honor Isabella Stewart Gardner. She was a leading American art collector, philanthropist, and patron of the arts, who founded the Museum that bears her name. She left the museum “for the education and enjoyment of the public forever” and provided an endowment to operate the museum.
